The City of Toronto Basement Flooding Subsidy Program
The property must be registered as a single-family residential, duplex or triplex property within the City of Toronto.
The subsidy is available only to the existing homes, not homes in the planning stages or currently under construction
The property must have its eavestrough downspouts properly disconnected from the City sewer system, where possible
A contractor currently licensed by the City of Toronto must be hired to install a backwater valve, a sump pump and/or perform severance and capping
A building permit and approved inspection must be obtained for back-water valve installations
Only properties that comply with the City’s Zoning By-law requirements for front yard paved areas are eligible.

Eligible homeowners can receive up to $1250.00 for installing a backwater valve. Backwater Valves stops raw sewage from backing up into your basement. It’s the only way to ensure that your home is protected from the devastation of a sewer backup. Our Flood Prevention Specialists are here to help you understand the benefits of installing a backwater valve.
Eligible homeowners can receive up to $1750.00 in city subsidy towards the installation of a new sump pump systems and or the replacement of an existing sump pump system. Additionally, upgrades such as battery backup systems and alarms systems are also included. We supply, install, and maintain sump pumps and battery backup systems.
